Nah, it's actually fairly interesting. He's got an interesting style and he does some pretty hilarious stuff.

I haven't read the rest of it, but I did read the section about Jason Mewes a few years ago. Really fascinating, heart-wrenching stuff.

Re: What are you reading right now?
Mewes was addicted to heroin. I haven't gotten to that part actually, but if the back of the book is any indication it is quite "moving, and, yes, funny." There's a passage where he talks about his dad dying that's quite moving as well. Also, he talks a lot about his family and that's always quite heartwarming.

Re: What are you reading right now?
I am now reading Movie Wars: How Hollywood and the Media Conspire to Limit What Films We Can See by Jonathan Rosenbaum. It's quite possibly the best book of film criticism I've ever read. There's even a chapter about Small Soldiers in which he tears Steven Spielberg a new asshole. I may like this book because Rosenbaum and share a similar hatred for Spielberg.

I should read that. I'm trying to seduce a film geek and I need to bone up on film literature. Heh, bone.

I'm reading the Omnivore's Dilemma, and now MY dilemma is that I'm never going to be able to go into a supermarket again.

Re: What are you reading right now?
Get rid of it now! My girlfriend made me read parts of that and it makes me feel horrible every time I eat the delicious, delicious flesh of tortured chickens. It also turned my sister vegetarian.

Re: What are you reading right now?
no! don't get rid of it! it's so important! it may change how you eat but it's certainly not necessary to become a vegetarian. i think everyone should read it and then eat better meat!

Re: What are you reading right now?
so far it's like reading Food Inc, which I saw and am horrified! I'll mostly only shop at Trader Joe's now for meat, and plan on making far more use of farmer's markets in the summer.

Re: What are you reading right now?
Hm, when I saw Food, Inc. I thought it was just like a film version of O's D, but less effective.

Re: What are you reading right now?
I can see that, but I saw Food Inc first, and it was super effective then, but now I'm getting all the background information and some holes filled in.
