If you've got some server space somewhere on this big blue ball (preferably on one of the green parts), than post a song you like and we'll ALL check it out (right guys?)

I shall start by repeating two tracks that I posted in This or That?

The Futureheads - Decent Days and Nights
The Futureheads - Stupid and Shallow

Not an MP3 I have uploaded but it's still pretty good.

http://www.hopelessrecords.com/mp3/hr655.mp3

That's Scared Of Chaka with "Why Are You Weird?" From the album "Crossing with Switchblades". It's Lo-Fi Garage Pop Punk or something or other.

I liked your Mp3s Dave!

I don't have any server space anywhere (not on this big blue ball, at least). David, I've been listening to The Futureheads a fair amount recently. They're pretty good.

Here are a few nice tracks with (primarily) female vocalists:

The first is a song by The Blow, which you may recognize as the group featured as the beginning and end of "Arthur Got A Haircut." This song is a cover of the Police song, "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic." It took me a few days to get into this song, but only because I kept skipping to the next track before the song develops (at 0:18). Anyway, The Blow is a great group.
http://oldeenglish.org/ben/The_Blow_-_Come_On,_Petunia.mp3

This song, from the new album by The Books (who are coming to Bard in something like 71 days) is from their great new album, "Lost and Safe." The album is a great continuation (and furthering) of the techniques they develop on the previous two albums. I love their music so much, there's just so much going on. Listen to this track with good headphones, you'll hear what I mean.
http://oldeenglish.org/ben/The_Books_-_Vogt_Dig_for_Kloppervok.mp3

I consider this final song to be one of my best recent finds. It's a Yo La Tengo track called "Today Is the Day." Those of you who already listen to Yo La Tengo have probably heard this version on their album "Summer Sun." It's a smooth, relaxing, slowly-sung lullabye of a song. It makes me feel like I'm floating in the ocean. However, recently, while going through a bunch of EP's, I found a second version of the same song (below), which is--as you'll hear--completely different. (By which I mean that it rocks.)
http://oldeenglish.org/ben/Yo_La_Tengo_-_Today_Is_the_Day_(EP_Version).mp3

Enjoy!

Ben

This first one is a song from the video game Katamari Damacy. This song is the only one on the games soundtrack not made by Namco. It was actually written specifically for the game by a Japanese Pop singer who's name is worthless as she has one single in japan that I'll never find on the internet.
http://oldeenglish.org/david/Katamari_Damacy_-_Lonely_Rolling_Star.mp3

2nd on is a track off of a friend of mine's 1st album. He must have been 17 or 18 when he put it out. Drill and Bassy. Very Impressive. (I made a music video to it that starred Ulysses (Drew from Playing Dead)

David, I seriously can not stop listening to that Katamari Damacy soundtrack. It's even in my head when I'm not listening to the actual CD. Also, is Zirafa Farsheed? I think I've heard that track before.

You're all really awesome in having musical tastes that surpass mine by 200%.

Ben, that song by The Books is fuckbeans rad and has the most ingenious acoustics.

Lacey,
Zirafa = Farsheed

Chris,
I downloaded the whole soundtrack to the game through bit torrent. I'm glad you dug the song so much. Hearing it in the context of the game is that much better.

Katamari Context

I personally get really into it when the chorus for "Katamari Mambo (Katamari Syndrome Mix)" kicks in while I'm rolling about. It gets really amazing around the 3 minute mark. Plus, the woman singing it sounds older than the girl singing "Lonely Star" so I feel less guilty about being turned on by it all.

and how amazing is "Katamari Stars" ? You should post that one, Davey Dave.

Forgive me, brothers and sisters, for I have sinned.
I had an intense craving for Solsbury Hill tonight, so I downloaded Napster when I could not find it.

Wait, you wanted a song, so your impulse was seriously to download Napster? 1997 was a while ago, Stempien.
