For some reason only the up escalator was working, even though the down escalator had been running only hours earlier when we planned the chase out. So, we used what we had and let modern movie special effect magic take care of the rest.
I definitely did not notice the people going backwards when I first watched it. But now that I’ve watched it again, I think it’s absolutely hilarious. It somehow fits with the deliriousness of the whole chase.
Thank you for presenting Ch3 in such a timely manner, I’m hoping for a sequel! I really enjoyed the acting, music and comedy! You guys are so entertaining and creative!
I am a man of many words, which generally means I am full of shit, but after watching pretty much all of your stuff, all I can say is: I love you all. So Much. You are incredibly hillarious, and I thank you sincerely for the mass proliferation of mirth which you fine people are responsible for.
I wouldn’t have noticed the film was reversed, except that that was the up escalator just a few moments later, when they left the station. You should have flipped the “down” video horiztonally!
a great ending to the best epic of the summer! Just curious though, how did you manage to bring a camera into the subway station? I’m always given a hard time. Terrorism and all that.
It’s legal to film in subways, so if you’re planning to do so, print out a copy of the regulations (which you can print out on the internet). There are rules (you can’t use a tripod, you can’t impede the movement of pedestrians), but I believe it’s legal.
While they’re both going up the elevator… does that little subliminal message thing say “unrendered”? haha I can’t get it to pause there so I can read it… is this the only film you’ve put subliminal stuff into?

why are there people walking backwards up the stairs while he’s going down the escalator? haha
July 28th, 2006 at 12:26 am
Ha! Congratulations, b — we were taking bets on who would be the first person to notice that.

Hahahahahah, you’re spoiling us with all of these sketches. This was a great conclusion. Fantastic trilogy.
July 28th, 2006 at 9:24 am
oh is it because he was the one standing backwards on an “up” escalator, and you guys just reversed the footage?
July 28th, 2006 at 9:54 am
oh man, I didn’t even notice that!
July 28th, 2006 at 10:15 am
took me a second time through to spot that… and only after i read the post -.-
is there actually a reason though?

oh that raizin… =D
i bet you guys just reversed the footage… but i think it would be funnier if you had just asked those gangstas to walk backwards up the stairs. haha.

How were you able to film in the subway? I took a photo once and got chased by a cop for using a camera down there.

The people are going up the stairs as well, so that’s a bit more of a giveaway that it’s reversed.
Great sketch guys.
September 15th, 2006 at 2:20 pm
I think the unrendered thing is actually because they didn’t render the special effects on the cut between scenes.

Was this sketch inspired by the 1924 film “Greed” at all? It played at BAM not to long ago.

Fav part has got to be the part where you’re both on the escalator 3 feet away from eachother and yet don’t move an inch. So very hillarious XD

The question mark at the end leaves the door open for a possible fourquel..!
